JACKSON ELEMENTARY DRESS CODE POLICY
All students will be expected to wear the following:
Short or long sleeve polo shirts in the solid colors of navy blue, white or black. Girls may wear white short or long sleeved Peter Pan blouses with skirts or jumpers.
Shirts should be tucked in. Grades 3-6 must wear a belt. Belts for grades pre-k through 2nd are optional. Belts may be black or brown with no decoration. Students may wear black or white plain t-shirts under their polo shirts.
Pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, capris, or jumpers must be in the solid colors of khaki or black. These must be properly fitted with the waistbands fitted to the waist. Waistbands may be regular or elastic. Cargo pants are not allowed. Skirts in Jackson’s plaid pattern (navy blue, black or white) are allowed, and may be purchased only at K. Skirt and jumper length must be no shorter than 3” from the floor while child is kneeling. Shorts and skorts must extend below the fingertips when the child is standing with hands to their sides.
Students may wear Jackson shirts at any time with the khaki or black pants, shorts, capris, skorts, or skirts. On Fridays, students may wear jeans with a Jackson t-shirt or uniform shirt only.
Fleece or sweatshirt jackets, or pullover sweatshirts, may be worn in class on cold days if they are solid grey or blue and properly fitted. No large or baggy jackets or sweatshirts will be allowed. (Any coats or jackets worn to and from school, that don’t conform to these guidelines, must be kept in the student’s locker during the day.)
Shoes must be lace-up, buckle, zip, or Velcro, and have a closed heel or a heel strap. Flip-flops are not allowed.
These items may be purchased anywhere as long as they meet the uniform guidelines.
Each child is provided with a free uniform at the beginning of the school year and with a free Jackson Elementary sweatshirt in the fall. If you need assistance getting additional uniform items or shoes for your children, please contact Jackson's Parent Facilitator, Carolyn Johnson, at 918-746-9352.
